Creating an account is simple:

1. Click the "Sign Up" button on the homepage
2. Fill in your basic information (name, email, age, gender, location)
3. Create a secure password
4. Verify your email address via the confirmation link we send
5. Complete your profile by adding photos and personal details

Your account will be activated immediately after email verification.

For the best experience, we recommend including:

• Clear, recent photos that show your face (minimum 3 photos)
• An engaging bio that shares your interests, values, and what you're looking for
• Accurate demographic information (age, location, occupation)
• Your preferences for potential matches
• Hobbies and interests to help with matching

Complete profiles receive up to 5x more matches and messages!

To delete your account permanently:

1. Go to your Profile Dashboard
2. Click on "Account Settings"
3. Select "Delete Account"
4. Confirm your decision

Important: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All your data, matches, and messages will be permanently removed.

If you just need a break, consider deactivating your account instead. This hides your profile temporarily without losing your data.

We offer three subscription tiers:

• Free Basics: Basic profile creation, limited daily views, send visitor messages, receive messages from all users
• Premium (₦10,000/month): Unlimited profile views, advanced search filters, priority in search results, profile video feature, better visibility
• Gold (₦20,000/month): All Premium features plus highest priority, exclusive Gold badge, VIP support, eligible for matchmaking services

You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time from your Profile Dashboard.

Accepted Payment Methods:

• Bank transfer (Opay: Account 8088198888)
• Credit/Debit cards
• Mobile money transfers

Refund Policy:

• Full refund within 24 hours of purchase if you haven't used premium features
• Partial refund within 7 days for technical issues we cannot resolve
• No refund after 7 days or if premium features have been used
• Matchmaking service fees are non-refundable once the matching process begins

To request a refund, contact our billing department with your transaction details.

To cancel your subscription or disable auto-renewal:

1. Go to your Profile Dashboard
2. Click on "Subscription" or "Billing"
3. Select "Manage Subscription"
4. Choose "Cancel Subscription" or "Turn off Auto-renewal"
5. Confirm your choice

Important Notes:

• Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
• You will retain premium access until your paid period ends
• You can resubscribe at any time
• To avoid being charged, cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date

To report a user:

1. Go to their profile page
2. Click the three dots (•••) or "Report" button
3. Select the reason for reporting (harassment, fake profile, inappropriate content, etc.)
4. Add any additional details
5. Submit the report

To block a user:

1. Go to their profile or chat conversation
2. Click the three dots (•••) or "Block" button
3. Confirm you want to block them

Blocked users cannot:

• See your profile or online status
• Send you messages
• Match with you in searches

1. Video chat first: Always have at least one video call before meeting in person
2. Meet in public: Choose busy, well-lit public places for first meetings
3. Tell a friend: Share your plans, location, and match's information with someone you trust

5. Stay sober: Avoid excessive alcohol consumption
6. Keep personal information private: Don't share your home address, workplace, or financial details early on
7. Trust your instincts: If something feels wrong, leave immediately
8. Check-in system: Arrange to check in with a friend during and after the date

Remember: Hook 'n' Romance does not conduct background checks on users. You are responsible for your own safety.
